John Surch - ECB Level 2

John has been playing Cricket at Great Rissington since the 70s. John used to open the batting and keep wicket for the 1st X1 before 'retiring' to Captain the 2nd XIs. He says 2021 will be the last season but then again he has been saying that for the last four years. Rumour has it, he was batting with Noah before rain stopped play! He has coached throughout the age groups at Rissy and has coached district squads for the GCB. In the forthcoming season he will be coaching and managing the U13s.

Tina Surch - ECB Level 2

Tina has been brought up watching cricket thanks to her Dad! After graduating with a degree in Psychology aspirations of completing a masters in Sports Psychology made her turn her eye to cricket coaching, seven years later there has been no Sports Psychology masters but a new love of cricket coaching has been found. As well as being Youth Coordinator Tina will be managing and coaching the U11s in the forthcoming season.

Mike Weston – Coach Support Worker

Mike began coaching in 2019 after a couple of seasons of helping with umpiring and scoring in his sons matches and can be seen playing for the 2nd XI's at the weekend. Mike will be assisting coaching the U11s and U13s for the forthcoming season.

Matt Maynard – Coach Support Worker

Matt started coaching in 2019 after a couple of seasons cheering on his sons from the side-lines before deciding to take a step into coaching instead. Matt will be assisting coaching the U11s and U13s for the forthcoming season.

Nick Emsley – Volunteer Coach

Nick has played all the way through the age groups at Great Rissington and has been volunteering with coaching since he turned 16 and is often seen bowling in the 2nd XI when not needed by the 1st XI. Sure to be one of the stars of the future of Great Rissington CC we are always please to see our young players coaching. Nick will be assisting John coaching the U13s in the upcoming season.

Harry Brain – All Stars Activator

Harry has found he enjoys working with children through a number of placements working in primary schools and is keen to volunteer with All Stars Cricket.

We also have a number of our U15s age group volunteering with coaching the younger age groups and hope to inspire the next generation of cricket coaches.
